PPT Receives Business Volunteer of the Year Award

HUNTSVILLE, AL, - PPT Solutions, Inc. (PPT) received the Business of the Year Award from HandsOn Greater Huntsville.

PPT received the Award at HandsOn Greater Huntsville’s (HOGH) annual VIP Gala which took place on June 5th at the Holiday Inn Downtown Huntsville. The event recognizes the volunteer work of Madison County’s Very Influential People.

The Award was created to recognize organizations that are in partnership with the community to mobilize volunteers and provide solutions to local challenges. PPT was recognized for its participation in the BVC’s canned food drive for Huntsville’s Salvation Army (which generated more than 7,500 pounds of food), employee compensation for eight hours of volunteer work and employees’ individual volunteer efforts.

Dan Montgomery, Northrop Grumman’s Lead Executive for Huntsville and HOGH Honorary Chairman presented individuals and companies with awards. “We are all blessed to be living in this great country and this wonderful what sets us apart from other nations is our benevolence and willingness to help others. The Huntsville community is the “shining star” among the “thousand points of light” that makes this country so unique. Volunteerism and services to others is a way of life that enriches everyone,” Montgomery said.

Other awards given at the event were Father of the Year, Volunteer of the Year (male and female), Historic Preservation Volunteer of the Year, Faith Based Volunteer of the Year, Arts & Entertainment Volunteer of the Year, Young Professional Volunteer of the Year and Humanitarian Volunteer of the Year.

In addition to the awards presentation, the event featured live and silent auctions (proceeds were given to HOGH) and delicious hors d’oeuvres. WHNT Meteorologist Spence Denton and Star 99.1 radio Hosts Dee Dee Morgan and Mark Hunter served as award hosts.
